Cure for Pain: The Mark Sandman Story is a film on the life and music of the former frontman for Boston's “low rock” band Morphine. Sandman tragically died on stage in 1999 at the age of 46. His impact on the Cambridge and Boston music scene is still felt today.
Mark's vision lives on in the Mark Sandman Music Project. His music lives on in Elastic Waste Band (former members of Morphine) at Atwoods Tavern on Wednesday nights and Treat Her Right (Mark's earlier band) at Toad on alternate Sunday nights.
The film will be shown on Fri, Apr 29 at 10PM as part of the Independent Film Festival Boston.
