In the past year, the reunited Archers of Loaf have played a hometown show at The Cat's Cradle and at the Sasquatch and ATP festivals. Their first two albums, Icky Mettle (2011) and Vee Vee (2012) have recently been remastered and re-issued by Merge Records. Listen to "Harnessed in Slums" from Vee Vee below.

They also will be be featured in an upcoming concert film "What Did You Expect" from the director of The Replacements documentary "Color Me Obsessed". And they will play two nights in Boston in April.

"And there's a chance that things could get weird. Yeah, that's a possibility..."

White Stripes at The Grammys

The 54th GRAMMY's 2012 will air tonight. While one could quibble with the selections and omissions, it is music's biggest night, akin to the Oscars for movies. While it is mainstream and pop music that dominates, the academy sometimes recognizes alternative and indie music.

There are also some great unexpected performances. One of my favorite GRAMMY performances, for the white hot version of Death Letter (Son House cover) by The White Stripes in 2004. They switch gears at about 2 minutes in. Beck's intro is classic, too. What did he say?

New video from The Black Keys. The song is "Gold on the Ceiling" from their 2011 release "El Camino". The video features the van from the album cover, which is definitely not a Chevy El Camino.
